Is the media covering up anything that makes Ukraine look totalitarian? Two separate bills have been submitted to the Ukrainian parliament this past week requesting to ban the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) from operating in the country, owing to its status as an autonomous branch of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The UOC is one of only two mainline Orthodox jurisdictions in Ukraine, the other being the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) which is more Western-oriented but only recognised by a minority of autocephalous churches in the Orthodox world.
Despite the UOC's opposition to the war, including a strong condemnation from its head, some lawmakers in the Eastern European country seek to outlaw its activities, claiming that it is an extension of 'Russian soft power' — something the UOC denies.

"The Anglo-Saxons had a few sanctions. They switched to sabotage, it's unbelievable, but the fact is that by organizing explosions on the Nord Stream international gas pipelines that run along the bottom of the Baltic Sea, they actually began to destroy the pan-European energy infrastructure," the head of Russia said at the ceremony of adopting new regions into Russia.
It can now be confirmed that North Korea did fire a ballistic missile over Japan for the first time since 2017. How should Japan respond? Is a response necessary?
We're starting a new week and it's bound to get heavy, so let's start out light. There are movies that I like to watch every October, before Halloween. Young Frankenstein, Dracula: Dead and Loving It, and Zombieland are kind of my go-to movies. Do you have any favorites?
